Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a form of gentle tissue manipulation that encourages the movement of lymph fluids throughout the body. The fluids in the lymphatic system help remove waste and toxins from tissue that may be sluggish due to health conditions, bolstering the body’s natural detoxification process and enhancing the immune system at the same time. In addition to maintaining fluid levels in the body, the lymphatic system also absorbs fats from the digestive tract, and  protects the body against foreign invaders that transport waste products to be eliminated from the body.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a type of treatment that should not be classified as massage. In addition to producing relaxation, Manual Lymphatic Drainage treats swelling, lymphedema, inflammation, and it reduces pain. Manual Lymphatic Drainage also helps speed up the healing process after medical procedures or surgeries.

Another benefit of MLD is its efficacy in reducing cellulite, which is the body's response to toxins. MLD, along with lifestyle changes, has been shown to dramatically smooth and reduce cellulite.
